I've never really read through an obesity thread on Mefi, just heard the hushed whispers about such threads. Nobody would talk much about them, even when pressed, mumbling that they suddenly remembered something important they had to do. Can they really be such horrors? Can such an everyday topic—one that the media is saturated with 24/7/365—really be so contentious? One day I intend to be brave and find out.
