I'm impressed at how I manage to have the glowing red eyes of a demon in every single picture of me.

I've added mine. I'm in the same boat as chrismear - I can remember a few people's names, but not all of them. So if you want to tag/note yourselves up on my pics then please feel to. Got a shoutout on there? Tag/note that as well if you're so inclined.

I hate the caret, but the guy holding it is kinda hot. Now I'm confused, Londoners. Damn you.

A message for Eideteker and grouse.
I thought that was going to be a shoutout, you tease.

I've uploaded my blurred shots into the group. Including this one, which I really like.
Anyway, I've also confused things by chucking some in from the last meetup, in Islington.
Lovely night. Again in a fortnight!

Thanks TheDonF. Incidentally, I have now added most of you as contacts so I can stalk you from Blue to Green to Grey to those other colours. You have been warned.

Damn ... sorry I missed it. Just got back from Canada and was too jet lagged. Please let me use this thread for self-interested purposes and direct you all over to this AskMe post, where I'm trying to figure out everything you need to know to make London feel like home. Any help will be rewarded with beer at the next meetup.

Ant, it looks like you've opened up a wormhole in the space-time continuum in that one you just posted. Meanwhile I'm melting in the corner as a result...

Lovely night. Again in a fortnight!
Maybe not in a fortnight, but definitely once or twice sometime before Christmas. The same place (or somewhere with equally cheap beer) would be cool. And, yeah, it was a good night - just what I needed.

w00t, DC mefites represent! Thanks, hugsnkisses! Looks like a hugely fun meetup.
NortonDC and I are off tonight for the twinkling lights of Vegas and our own first anniversary, and we are ready to shout you out!

Guess who only just got home.
A good night. Wish I'd managed to get over earlier - I might have even been able to snag a seat!
The hangover this morning induced me to have Sainsbury's triple curry sandwich pack for breakfast. Nothing like a proper start to the day, eh?

NinjaTadpole - hopefully your Sainsbury's sandwich tasted better than Morrisson's Chicken Tikka wrap thing that I had this evening which left me wanting to urgently and violently remove my taste buds.

Yes, the male-to-female ratio was pretty high, although that was not particularly surprising. To attack the problem, we must find where the problem lies.
Is it just that there are more male Internet users in general? More male MetaFilter users? MetaFilter users who live near London? MetaFilter users who live near London who are interested in coming to this kind of meetup? Something about this meetup in particular?
I smell science to be done. Or another meetup.

I'm probably moving a lot closer to London in the near future so there's your answer: I'll just knuckle down and have the op.

We had a fantastic turnout with something like fifteen people by the end of the night. It seems like quite a few people came out from this with a slight hangover, always the mark of a cracking night out in England. Use of "Are you a friend of Matt Haughey?" was well employed; discussion over the correct pronounciation of "MeFi" was dragged out over an unreasonable (yet amusing) length of time and we quickly ran out of seats. Good times.
