Recent favorites algorithm doesn't make sense October 22, 2006 6:35 PM   Subscribe

The sitewide Recent favorites page (not the tab) says that it lists the most popular posts within the last 24 hours, but appears to be using some other algorithm. Posts (examples: 1 2 3) and comments (examples: 1 2 3) that have received zero favorites in the last 24 hours are listed on it.

Incidentally, the tab appears to be using the correct algorithm. Offhand, I'd guess that the page is counting favorites over some longer period of time, possibly 5 days.

Matt is doing some serious reworking of the system today. Wait until tomorrow and see if the problem goes away.

It might be 48 hours, not 24 hours on the all favorites page.

Scanning through the current list, I think it's at least 5 days.

The longer the time frame the better. I want to see all the stuff people have favorited!
