Toronto meetup. November 3, 2006 6:15 AM   Subscribe

Toronto MeFites, let us have a meeting of our not-so-secret cabal and create Canada's stealth plan for world domination. Or just have an alcohol-enabled bitchfest like usual. Whatever. Does the night of November 11th sound good?

If I'm not mistaken, the Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto will be hosting the international Rock, Paper, Scissors championship on the 11th... might make a nice meetup!

Remember, Remember, the 11th of November, eh?

Whoa, thank for the heads up NotMyself. Maybe my dream of representing Oirland in ... something ... can become a reality!

I have some venue suggestions from spnx, who is a pub aficionado:

- the Bow and Arrow on Yonge at Davisville. They have excellent beer on tap and the food is good.

- the Rebel House on Yonge at Rosedale is good as well, and also has the advantage of being on the subway line.

- the Dark Horse, at Bloor and Jane.

- Allens or the Dora Keough on the Danforth.

North of Bloor... east of the DVP... these things are considered "Toronto"? How about C'est What? Though in truth, I am not fussy. I think I'm ok with the date.

The service at C'est What is so unbelievably bad and unhelpful, especially for groups of indeterminate size. I'd avoid it like the plague for something like this.

Allen's! Oooh yes.

I'll definitely come along, although it's right before payday so I'll be dreadfully sober or else looking to mooch a pint off someone :)

Also, after the last meetup in the east end (which I showed up to ridiculously late and drunk), I'd humbly submit that we keep it a little more central?

Are we going to do this, boys and girls? I seem to be free tomorrow night. And I'll buy you a pint SassHat.

Sure! I can be wherever tomorrow night. Orange Swan you want to decide on a specific place?

Good lord, i just checked to see if MeFi toronto meetups ever happened, because it might be fun and I've never been to anything like that, and Dang: missed it by a day. Next time I suppose.

How do these things work? Do I need to start checking MetaTalk now too? Or is there any kind of notifying that happens?

You need to check MetaTalk. I think some people occasionally go to the trouble of looking people up and notifying them about potential meetups, but its not the usual thing.
