X New Comments Disappears on MeTa

Unlike the behaviour at Metafilter itself, here on Metatalk, after I arrive at the new flat front page with the (x new) flags on threads, if I click into a thread to read the comments then hit the back button on my browser, I seem to be losing my (x new) flags.

I know I could Right-Click-->Open in New Window. Just noting it and wondering if the same thing happens to others. Mildly bothersome at worst.

(IE 6.0 on XP)

Addendum : Sometimes. I know that's not too helpful, but I can't seem to see a pattern.

Happens to me too (Opera 5.0 on Linux at the office).

Consistently with IE5 on NT, and also @ home with IE5.5 on W98se.

I don't think it's browser specific: spotted it yonks ago, and yes I just right-click->new-window to get round it ... I tend to be doing that with more than half the links I ever open in any case, so it's not a burden.

Still, pedantry demands a bug-post ;)
