Sorry, immediately the vision of what "Santa, the Barbarian" would look like popped into my head.

If you were all gonna dress like that, I'd fly out for this meetup.

I might... might... MIGHT be able to drag myself down from San Luis Nabisco for such an event, but the location must be very handicap-accessible (not wheelchair, I'm ambulatory but frustratingly wobbly walking right now). And I wouldn't rule out the possibility of dressing up as Santa Barbara Walters ("If you were a reindeer, which one would you be?") if it helps to build attendance. And you DO want the meetup to wendell.

This offer may expire the moment I come to my senses.

Dang, first time I'm close to a meetup (from across the continent, even) and I'll miss it. Flying in to SBA tomorrow and back to Maine on Monday.

If we're thinking bar, my vote is definitely the Mercury Lounge (in Goleta). A distant second vote from me would be Elsie's.

holyrood- as long as you're ok with the inevitable modicum of LA-bashing which is drilled into our heads in Santa Barbara (which we will try to keep under control), I'd say the more the merrier....
