It's really just a question February 26, 2007 9:08 PM   Subscribe

Just for future reference, when is it interesting and when is it not to post something about a naked celebrity? People seemed fairly interested in Tony Danza. Just asking.

Rosie O'Donnell - Not OK
Terri Hatcher - A-OK

Ok, talk to you later.

That is to say, the Danza post is more than it seems.

And we've covered the Equus thing. No one gives a shit.

That's why the question is relevant.

More to the point, that picture is a 'shop.

That's a good enough answer for me.

Interesting? No idea. Acceptable? No way to tell. Don't forget, there was almost as much outrage over the Danza post as there was acceptance. To my mind, if it makes me laugh I like to see it on the front page. If its only function is to give me a hard-on or actively discourage one, then I'm not that interested in seeing it on mefi. I go to fleshbot for that. But that's me. The only way to know what's okay community-wise for mefi is to see what the reaction has generally been. I don't think there's any way anyone could have said with certainty that the Danza post would have gone over well before it was posted. So either you see some value in it that might keep it alive over there and try it out, or you don't and just don't bother.

But even if you see value in it, don't be surprised if it goes down in flames and you get some kind of deletion notice like:

This post was deleted for the following reason: "Dude. Kathy Bates' titties? Really?"

That sort of hot/cold duality seems more like Stile to me.

Honestly, that doesn't make it good or bad, to me. Maybe it leans a litle toward bad. I mean, there are literally a hojillion faked celeb nude (male and female) sites out there, and linking to one honestly isn't that interesting. I had thought it was real. (Sort of embarassing, actually. I thought I was sharper at noticing these things. pretty obvious to me, now.) That was part of what was linkworthy about it. That and it was hysterical.

Yeah, but I haven't visited Stileproject in a while just because there hasn't been anything new on there besides advertising in years.

As I said on your post, it's not a big deal (who freaking cares), and we talked it to death already. Not again, I'm closing this.
