Gift horse.
Mouth.
True, but one can be curious, no?
(Plus, I wondered how one might procure the addresses for people not in their group; it just occurred to me that this is trivial with a simple substitution of part of any password. Not a biggie, but perhaps a concern for some people.)

Being in two swapsets, it was very easy to figger the passwords to access the blog entries on bluesilver that contained other swappers' info.

Sorry to go on, but everyone who participated in the swap (who hasn't already) should go over to the MeFi Swap Sent & Received forum to report which mixes they've received. It helps sort out the moochers from the swappers for next time 'round.

Just a note: This has been a great swap for me (swapset Baroque). Got CDs from jessamyn, goodnewsfortheinsane and asbestos mcpinto and they've all been GOOD. As in listen to several times good. As in rip to iTunes and put on the iPod for next week's 16 hou4 cardrive good. Add in the Please Enjoy mix and and things are rockin'.
goodnewsfortheinsane put together a professional looking package but jessamyn's handcrafted case just fit her theme perfectly, while asbestos mcpinto's handwriting should be made into a font it's so good looking.
thanks folks!

I received one copy of Please Enjoy as well - I was in two groups (Lieder and Koto).
I could not read the post mark, but the stamp is from the US.
My hunch is this CD was sent to returning swap members. If all of us 'Please Enjoy' recipients got together and pooled the names of the recipients of /our/ swap CDs over the years, we would suss out our mystery benefactor in one moment.
I still have the names and addresses of all the people that I sent my three CDs to. I participated in three swap rounds, two of these I was in two swapsets.
It's not that hard (but very generous!) to send a mystery CD to former swapmates - although my Canadian stamp would give me away in a moment.
So thank you mystery benefactor! I enjoyed your swap set very much.

I have a torrent client, but for me using it is akin to 10+ years ago when I first put that Prodigy disc into my computer and got all baffled. brainwidth hosted a digital swap a while back where we made available .zips of mixes. It didn't much take off, but maybe another try is in order?

Hey everybody, I'm tired of the mystery so I'll lay it down for you right here. I was sure somebody would've figured it out by now.
goodnewsfortheinsane told me he had this awesome plan to send out an awesome mix cd to everybody registered for the swap and then totally deny it was ever him. I can't even describe his plan to make it appear like the discs were sent from San Francisco, it's just too complex for a simpleton like myself.
He even said he would start a metatalk thread to throw suspicion off of himself.
