Embedding YouTube in [more inside] September 20, 2007 5:02 PM Subscribe
Bug/Feature Expansion Request: YouTube links in MetaFilter's [more inside] don't display the optional embed icon.
It's been brought up recently on MetaTalk that YouTube linkdumps are possibly better formatted using [more inside]. I mentioned this issue at the time, but got no response from admin. It would be great if (for those of us who have the option checked) links to videos on YouTube in the [more inside] got the embed option too.
Please if there's been discussion on this topic before or a reason given previously for NO do point me that way.
I'm also curious what everyone thinks about YouTube linkdump posts. Don't forget to mention how much you love and/or hate them, or if you couldn't give Ratt's ass either way (bonus points for being creatively sardonic).

Yeah, I need to add it in there. Gimme a day or so to get it done.

I love and/or hate Youtube linkdumps. I also couldn't give a rat's ass either way.

It has also been brought up that they are possibly better formatted using [DELETE].
I'm not taking a position one way or the other; I'm just sayin'....

Motion: If a single post has more than three YouTube Links, it is per se a bad post, and the presumption of badness can only be overcome by overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Take a look at the most favorited post of all time. Warning: 10,000-link YouTube filter.

Like I say; overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

The YouTube embed icon also doesn't show up when browsing MetaFilter on the Nintendo Wii browser.
