Cincinnati meetup?

It is all about the food. And the drinks. And the sarcasm.

We are MeFi Cincinnati... and we need to meet!

I know there has to be at least...4 or 5 of you out there, right?

Anyone up for a meetup night in Feb?

Oh man, would that you asked this in early 2007 rather than early 2008. As it is, I hope you get some folks to show up.

How does either February 28th (Thursday) or the 29th (Friday) sound?

Any suggestions for the locale? I can throw out a handful:

Guru India (Northern, KY in Crescent Springs off of the Buttermilk Pike exit on 75 -- Indian/Pakistani, This is a new place opened by Ambar India's owners over in Clifton. REALLY great Indian food w/o the crowd. For now.)

Dewey's Pizza (3 locations -- Awesome Pizza)

Shanghai Mama's (Downtown -- Chinese that is the best I have had)

Chez Nora's (Covington -- Varied menu)

Nicholson's (Downtown -- Scottish pub, rad berrs and authentic food)

Slims (Northside -- gour-comfort food at it's finest. Great atmosphere)

Cock & Bull Pub (Covington -- The best Wings around, Great selection of beer)

I am looking forward to this!

OK, to expand the potential headcount...and for those of you would are willing to be convinced (begged even)! to make the journey:

How about going with Friday Feb 29th?

It will be a rad way to celebrate Leap Year!

Now ... to pick the place. Any thoughts on the suggestions folks?

Additionally - We are near Turfway Park, a thoroughbred racetrack ... we could do dinner, catch a few races (I have connections!) and then head to a local pub. For you out of towners, I can provide a list of local hotels w/good rates.

Feedback?

Alert any MeFites you can think of in Louisville, Lexington, Columbus and of course, Cincinnati! Bring along spouses, friends... Lets have a blast!

PS- Is anyone out there good at Photo Journaling? We need a Photo Master for the meetup!

I'll come and bring a camera - not sure I'm worthy of the "Photo Master" (Mistress?) designation, though. And while I like all of your suggestions, I'd also add The Oriental Wok. They are really nice folks and would spoil us rotten.

Ah ha! Perfect timing before the best week in Cincinnati history (Opening Day Monday, MusicNOW Festival Wednesday-Saturday), the following week. I'll be there!

The Radisson Cincinnati Riverview Hotel in Covington (it is within walking distance from Chez Nora's) will be offering discounted rooms for the weekend for our MeFi meetup!

You need to call [phone] and ask for the front desk. Tell them you are with 'MetaFilter' and would like one of the rooms that Diane Spurlock (Head of Sales) is offering the discounted rate on.

Included: High-Speed Internet, Pool, Fitness Center, Free Parking and Breakfast Buffet.
