Is anyone else seeing random font changes?

ok, straight up - i'm using konqueror with a weird set of fonts on x (i happen to like fixed spacing). so maybe 'nuf said. but if not - apparently (i can see no pattern) at random, i get either 8 or 9pt fonts when i look at mefi or meta. i can tell the difference because 9pt doesn't render correctly. my personal config asks for 8pt. the rendering is my problem, i know, but why does it swap about? it's been happening for quite a few days - at first i though maybe there was some development going on, but it's been a while now. afaik, 9pt is the default size, if that's any help. i don't see this with other sites, but i don't read many other sides regularly enough to notice (those that i read regularly tend to be pretty plain html). oh, and by "at random" i don't mean each load - it changes maybe every day or so (it just changed from yuck to ok now). and i'm always logged on. maybe this is just an obscure browser problem...

every now and then things change from my defined verdana, to a timesish looking serif font. this almost always occurs at the same time that text justification of the comments gets whacked over to the left. I think this started to happen after the tag closer was setup. Mac IE 5 on OS9.1.

that would be consistent with what i see if you're flipping between your "custom" values and some system default (i can't detect font family changes, having only one font family installed anyway, but do see the size change).

Mine made a strange change today. It looked like all the text was italicized. Is there a new virus going around the 'net?
