May (we) meetup in Melbourne?
I'll be in Melbourne, Australia for a few days near the end of May, and I have a free Saturday night (May 24th). I'd love to spend some socially enjoyable time with Melburnians and others (if applicable)! I'm staying in the CBD near Flinders St. Station, but I'm willing to travel (public transport).
I've chosen the date, but I'll leave the suggestion of suitable venues to the locals.

The YMCA is near there.

So, where's it to be then? I'm pretty clueless as far as central Melbourne goes, any of you cool young locals care to suggest a relatively quiet venue with the requisite level of sophistication?

BTW I believe UbuRoivas was trying to make the point that Sydney sucks repugnant organs with respect to drinking venues, in stark contrast to Melbourne's super-cool-bar-filled awesomeness.

nomis has it. unfortunately, any bar in sydney that's even half-nice automatically attracts crowds of the worst kinds of wankers, earning it that dreaded adjective, "exclusive".
