Interesting to see delicious' users comments on MetaFilter. We're a new blog (as of 3 days ago)! A Home Improvement Blog! A POPULAR WEBSITE WHERE PEOPLE TALK ABOUT D@MN NEAR EVERYTHING! Also, "faux-intellectual liberal hipster I-listen-to-OK-Go-with-my-$180-"thrift-store"-jacket-on stuck-ups. Basically fark, but populated with folk who don't have as much of a sense of humor, but who are smarter or better educated."

delicious annotations are weird, no doubt about it. Also, I feel kind of guilty not dotting it out into del.icio.us anymore, but it sure is easier to type.

We're a new blog (as of 3 days ago)!

New to the deliciouser's blogroll, probably. These aren't necessarily descriptions so much as notes for a lot of people.

This trend that we've been seeing of being noticed by various groups of people is interesting. Metafilter used to be such a wallflower; he was into all those books, and he seemed very intelligent, but his voice always cracked before it finally deepened, and he always acted awkward in social settings.

I'm personally looking forward to the time when Metafilter finally starts getting noticed by girls.

The interesting thing with delicious is that you're not commenting in some public area or such. You're commenting on your list of bookmarks, leaving yourself notes, and then they show up aggregated in some public area.

True story: a friend of mine (who is a girl) and I (who am also a girl) were walking down the street shooting the shit, and she said something about Asking Metafilter, and I was all "omg you read Metafilter?" and she was like "totally!" and then we had a pillow fight and made out.

Okay, the pillow fight and making out part didn't actually happen, but the rest is true.

I remember reading metafilter (didn't have an account then) back in that weird week when the camgirls showed up, and one of them classified metafilter as an E/N site -- Everything/Nothing. Years later, as I think about it, I can't help but feel she really had our number.

(Did any camgirls stick around, or did they all leave en masse in the same way they showed up?)

Well, maybe you can tell me, then.

Full disclosure: 'Metafilter has no girls, ha ha, right?' would be a stupid joke, if one were to make it, not least because there's no truth to it. Hell, I probably know more girls on Metafilter than I know guys, at least whose posts and whose usernames I recognize. Come to think of it, that's pretty exceptional when you consider most of the dumb web forums out there.

I just find adolescent males funny. And the idea that we're all very interested in how everybody else perceives us reminds me of how I felt when I was a teenaged boy. That's all.

Sometimes I think maybe I need to just try not making jokes for a while. I'd rather do that than be part of the problem. Ah well.
