The next monthly Chicago, noncabal, meet-up should be this Wednesday, even though the Beard has not spoken, right?

I can't actually be there because I have a philanthropy board meeting. But I wouldn't want that to stand in the way of your fun.

Billy Goat, 6:30pm, Wednesday the 4th. Someone should bring Jell-o.

A swarm of fruit fly researchers (and associates, like me) will be in Chicago for (I kid you not!) the 50th annual Drosophila meeting! Wooo!

But... the keynote speech starts at 7. Bummer. I almost made a meet-up.
