Another request to find a lost MeFi post July 30, 2009 2:44 PM   Subscribe

I am trying to find the MeFi post to a YouTube video that features a little girl singing. The video was processed by the video poster by taking several snippets of a little girl talking, squealing, screeching and clapping a pair of flip-flops together. The result was an absolutely endearing "song", with a little synthesizer thrown in.

The post was probably made around a year ago. The little kid is probably 3 or 4 and has long dark curly hair. It's difficult to search for it because a lot of the comments were people imitating the song:

aaah aaah OOOOH ah ah, ah ahhh ah oooo OOO!

etc.

I thought I had bookmarked it, but apparently I did not. I'd be grateful if anyone has the link, or has any idea what I'm talking about.

(I was humming it today for some reason, so now I need to find it)

Full Disclosure: I suck at MetaFilter. That's why I don't post much. I think this is where one posts these requests. I'll take my deletion with a smile if I'm wrong or if I'm displaying bad form. I hope I've given enough information.

(Full disclosure: I found it again because 1) I remembered it was double-posted and 2) I remembered that the double said something about Aphex Twin's daughter and 3) I did a Google search on the Deleted Thread blog)

I love that video. Crazy Song.

I didn't see it on MeFi, though. Got it from the everlasting blort.

Go' bless ye, guv. That's the one.

Where's the "Mark as best answer" thingy?

See? SEE? I just READ MetaFilter and try not to TOUCH it. Because I'm retired.

Now I want to hear that little girl do Cornershop's "The Roll Off Characteristics of History in the Making."

Sure, it's pretty catchy.

Having answered the question, I will now flame out.

That's adorable. In an ear-splitting way.

netbros - yes, I was, and I don't know why. It was a happy sort of humming. It took me a minute to figure out what I was humming. Then I remembered. I don't know why these things happen, any more than I know why I occasionally think of Karl Malden or pepperoni pizza. These things are birthed fully formed from my forehead, unbidden.

shakespeherian - You are my hero. Flame out if you like, but it's customary to flame out with an unsettling off-topic derail.

I would (probably will) definitely hum this. But I like how it presents you first with the spectre of atonal child weirdness set to audio effects. A test, it is.

It's not until you see the flip flops for the first time that you have any inkling you're in for solid gold.

I'm really disappointed in that thread. Surely we could have used that video as all the evidence we needed to critique a complete stranger's clearly shoddy parenting ability.

I still love the little battle roar she ends it with.

I think we need Louis C.K.'s comments on this video.
