Help me see this youtube video in Canada. November 23, 2009 11:43 AM   Subscribe

The youtube video in this FPP is not available in my country (Canada) due to copyright restrictions. I've watched it before and would like to watch it again. Can someone either point me to it somewhere else online where it might work (maybe on youtube at another account), or at least tell me the proper title or some info I can use to search myself? Thanks.

Yup, just what Canada needed.

This is why I wish youtube links had human-readable URL's, that way I could google up another source when the video is blocked which seems to happen to anything I come by quite often lately.

Thank you Gubo. Your link has a very nice summary of the video, and it saved my eyes from having to watch it.

I think that any post in which a primary link is not available globally should be deleted.

I suggested this on a recent occasion when there was a FPP of an American-only video link and had my comment deleted for my trouble. So clearly my view is not shared by the powers that be.

But nonetheless: copyright restrictions on video viewing are no different than posting links that are behind password protection or paywalls and in no way do these constitute "best of the web".

So, we're limited to the dozen or so sites that exist beyond China's Great Firewall?

Yes.

This said, I have, on occasion seen posts where the music linked to was not available in the US and I couldn't watch some BBC TV show clips once, so I do understand the frustration.

I think any post to content that is not available in the US should be deleted. It's an American website. And I'm writing as a Briton.

Oh, it would be.

It's an American website.

It's an international membership and community.

I'm in the US (Indiana IS still in the US, right?) and I'm getting the "Not available in your country" message, too. WTF???
