Must.. Leave.. House... February 1, 2010 1:12 PM   Subscribe

Atlanta, it's been nearly a year since our last meetup. Who's up for another?

I was thinking we could either do a decatur or buckhead meetup, but open to suggestions. How does Saturday, Feb 20th sound?

Feb 20th works for me.

I'm in! I'd prefer Decatur, but whatever works.

I won't be in town that weekend, but I'll catch you guys the next one.

Sure, why not. Decatur or Buckhead are both fine.

Just to piggyback on this Atlanta meetup thread: I'll be there this Friday night, Feb 5, to see The Residents. Any other ATL MeFites gonna go see the Eyeball-Headed Ones? I might have an extra ticket, in fact....

I can make the 20th and I like Decatur.

I was wondering when someone would want to have a meet-up here!

The 20th works for me, and I'd also like to put a vote in for Decatur.

Alas, I have plans for the evening of 20th but maybe I can drop by early

If I can't make it, I can always send one of my many sockpuppets.

Cool, there's definitely some interest. So.. Decatur, Feb 20th. I'll start putting together a list of restaurants in that area, and we can figure out exactly where and when. Any favorite restaurants there?

Any favorite restaurants there?

Brick Store, Thinking Man, The Marlay House (which used to be The Grange after it was The Angel)?

Twains is also pretty cool.

I miss the A something fierce. I'm actually due for a visit, soooo perhaps it could coincide with a meetup.

My best friend/hostess lives in Decatur, so I vote for there. (But disregard if I can't find a cheap ticket.)

(Wishful-thinking-filter: she lives above Carpe Diem. Perhaps?)

ALSO: If anyone wants to hit Taqueria del Sol, I NEED a fried chicken taco.

I haven't been to Thinking Man in a while... How does 7:00PM at Thinking Man sound to everyone?
posted by frwagon at 8:05 AM on February 6, 2010

I'm okay with Thinking Man at 7:00PM.

Thinking Man at 7:00 works for me as well!

I can make that.

Works for me as well.

BitterOldPunk, too bad I had friends in town! Come for the 20th and have a beer with us.

I'm headed to Atlanta for the first time a couple days later, sad to miss this.

What should I be sure to do/see instead?

Count me in.

Yeah, i'll be at wherever you guys end up, probably.

Urg. I just saw this. Might try to head there for a bit. I already have an all day meetup planned, but I can probably get away for a bit.

To summarize, since we're right on the meetup -- We'll be at Thinking Man's Tavern, this Saturday, at 7:00 PM.

Not that it's the largest place in the world, but if you're looking for the group, I have a shaved head, and usually wear button-down shirts with rolled up sleeves. Hopefully, there won't be too many people there that look like that.

I wish I could come visit again but I planned by own party for the same day. Say hi to the mink for me.

(I'm going to introduce curling to a bunch of Americans! With poutine! And tourtiere!)

(I should have invited all of you guys too)

Ah, you ITP people.

I'm kidding. :)

I'm the least ITP/OTP-ist person there is, but grabbingsand is in Frost/Nixon at the Blackwell Playhouse in Marietta, and we'll be at the theater that night. It runs for a while! Frost/Nixon! Pretty cool!
