Washington, DC meetup over the 4th of July weekend?
Hey! D.C. (Ha!) and I will be road tripping to the district from July 2-5. Mr. Moonpie has already graciously agreed to show us around the LOC on Friday, and I'd love to see/meet more of you at some point!
Whattya say? Do y'all get together for fireworks or anything like that?

I'm not sure if I can do it. There is a nice fourth of july parade that goes by my house on the Fourth and I was planning a pig roast for this year. I might be willing to open it up to Mefites, but now it's looking like it might not happen. I'll post again.

I'll be around. I'm hardly the most active mefite (either in postings or meetup attendance) but if you want someone to show you around or hang out with in D.C., thus far I don't have any plans.

We always leave town for the 4th, but hope you have a great time.The Mall gets crazy, but everyone should do it at least once.
(Back in the 80s, college kids would drag sofas out there and drink all day. These days it's tightly controlled, with checkpoints and such. Of course.)

We handled it--Stewriffic, exogenous, zennie and I (and a bunch of others) had a great time at the crazy illegal fireworks show at Lincoln Park. I played with sparklers.
