Austin meetup in late July?

Anybody up for an Austin meetup in late July? I just moved here and I thought it would be fun to meet some of the local MeFi crew.

Any good recommendations for the location?

Yes. We usually do this at a bar/pub. I currently work until 5:30pm on the weekends; anyone care if we did it after that?

I just moved here a week ago, and I would love to meet some Austin MeFites. Obviously, I don't have any suggestions for a location, but I could attend almost any evening in late July.

Also, I can confirm that Austin was cooler before I moved here.

Add me to the list -- been in Austin for a couple of years, but just joined MeFi in the last week.

There was a big ol' ice storm right before I relocated -- Austin definitely was cooler before I moved here.

If it's the weekend of the 30th-31st? Maybe? (I'm flying to Oregon Saturday just in time to miss a meetup there)

I'm watching the developing discussion - I'll need to either give someone planning to attend $20 beforehand or will drop it off wherever the meet-up ends up.

(my schedule has me out of town on the 24th, booked on the 31st, and both broke & pregnant the rest of the time or I'd be there with bells on to meet up and linger ;])

I'd be interested. My schedule is pretty open this month, at least on the weekends. Midweek is karaoke league (and if you're interested, come tonight to the Canary Roost. We're the purple team, vote for us!)

It was cooler in Austin before I moved here from my mom's uterus. No really, the heyday of the legendary "cool" Austin was definitely well before the early/mid '80s.

I might go to this meetup, but I will probably wuss out at the last moment.

If we're talking about after 5:30 pm on a weekend, let's do Sunday, not Saturday. Or a Thursday, even. I hear that some people (not me, but um, other people), have things to do on weekends.

For 6:00 on a Sunday, it is more likely that I would be able to make it to a southside event.
Kid friendly even better.

IRL post - it would be nice if folks would RSVP, b/c Freddie's handles tables somewhat better if there's a rough headcount.

I'm trying my best to make it possible to linger for a bit, because I'd really love to visit with y'all!

i figured we'd lose some to the rain.

for those who are still coming, plan on being inside - if i get there first, i'll ask for a 10-top, but be prepared to be broken up into two tables if that many really show.
