text ad does not fit in box March 27, 2002 12:01 AM   Subscribe

Is anyone else seeing problems with links on some text ads being a bit too long to fit the box? Screenshot is from MSIE 5.1.3 on Mac OS X.

In IE6 it stretches the box, and thereby moving the sidebar towards the center of the page.

I just guessed on the maximum number of characters to allow in ads, not knowing that people would submit ads without spaces in them. I need to set a maximum number of letters in a row, and spit out errors to people that mess those up.

You should see some of the ads I deny, they often have all caps, and try to cram a sentence into the link, without spaces, knowing that people will visually notice it more.

Matt --

Wouldn't it work if you set overflow and clipping on the box?
