Problem With Projects June 2, 2011 6:28 PM   Subscribe

When I try to post something directly from Projects it doesn't work. I click on the 'Preview' or 'Post' buttons the page loads, it says 'Waiting for Metafilter' and 'Waiting for Google Analytics' on the bottom, and than nothing happens. I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

Seems to work okay for me (though I only went as far as previewing the post)--are you using any Firefox extensions?

It's checking out fine for me too. Have you run through these steps? That's a good starting place.

Are you using a javascript blocker of some kind? If so, try disabling it.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Oh, yeah, sorry about that — posting to projects now costs another $5.

Were you trying to make a post directly from Projects near the time you posted this MeTa thread? Or is this a long-time wondering you're just getting around to asking?

If the former, the problem may be that at the time of this post it had been less than 24 hours since your last post to the blue. Posts sourced from Projects aren't exempted from the 1/24 rule. I reckon the Projects auto-posting function just doesn't fail properly when confronted with a user trying to make their second MeFi post in 24 hours.

Good point, carsonb. Posting to MeFi via Projects does bypass our initial check to make sure you can post. I just cleaned that up so that folks will get a clear error message if they're posting to MetaFilter from Projects and aren't eligible to post.
