Add Some Music To Your Day February 9, 2017 6:57 AM   Subscribe

Following hot on the heels of The MetaFilter Podcast, I give you its scruffy, grumpy, band t-shirt wearing younger sibling, The MeFiMusic Podcast (episode 4), available now on Soundcloud!

Running unfashionably late but packed full of musical treats of an especially high calibre, humbly presented here for your aural enjoyment:

Apples and Walnuts - Grangousier
What Happens Next - not_on_display
Looks Like Rain (Remix of original by Morphine) - acridrabbit
Night Train To Memphis (by Roy Acuff Jr) - OverlappingElvis
My Heart As Your Home - Sokka shot first
Everything Is Fucked - cortex
Jar Full Of People - grumpybear69

As mentioned, the "Do What Scares You" challenge will continue to be open for submissions until the end of this month, so there's still time to conquer your fears in musical form.

Thanks to all the above who agreed to have their marvellous work included, and to everyone who posted stuff to MeFiMusic lately - the quality continues to be high. If you haven't been to The Black lately you are as the youth say "missing out".

As greenish says within, it is an absolute belter of a podcast, and I promise to use that term more often in my day-to-day life in its honor.

Nice job, as always. I particularly enjoyed your stream-of-consciousness self-chats between songs.

Oooo this is going to be my bedtime listening, Thanks for putting this together! Jar Full Of People, I can't wait to hear that again. That was a little gummibear of genius IIRC.

Also I have to re-listen to Sunflower. I just found The Beach Boys Love You in a free record trove, and it's become one of those albums I know is good, but can't tell if I like it yet.

Yay, music podcast! I really like that you do these, greenish, especially at times when I'm distracted enough that I fall behind on Music myself for the Best Of The Web podcast. It's been such a busy week I forgot all about this until this morning so it's a happy start to a Saturday.

And thanks for including me in the mix. I thought the one-minute challenge was a lot of fun and a strongly recommend people go listen to 'em all; as greenish says in the podcast, it won't take long.

Thanks guys! All thanks to the excellent musicians.

Secretariat, thanks for your comment on the commentary - rambling at length about music that I like doesn't always work out in social situations so it's useful to have an outlet for it :)
