I was too, but I just went to my user prefs page and changed it back, and that worked fine. posted by mr_crash_davis at 11:58 AM on January 11, 2003

maybe a cookie bug. reset it. posted by mathowie at 12:04 PM on January 11, 2003
metafilter doesn't rewrite your cookies unless you tell it to "change your preferences" on the user prefs page. so if you use more than one machine, and your preferences changes don't take effect, it may just be that you need to go to your user prefs page and tell it to change them again (though nothing's actually changed). posted by moz at 12:13 PM on January 11, 2003
Did just that - alas, still PST where it said UTC.
[fiddled around with a few preferences to make sure there were real changes to make; on first opening the pref page, it already said UTC] posted by esha at 2:38 PM on January 11, 2003
Let me tell you, mister, you could do a lot worse than being in the pacific time zone! posted by Hildago at 8:23 PM on January 11, 2003
i was having a similar problem, which now seems to have been corrected. Though now the 'Page opens in a new window' feature seems to be fighting with Proxomitron, though it never seemed to be an issue in the past.
Not the end of the world, but if anyone has any suggestions i would be happy to entertain them. posted by quin at 3:08 PM on January 13, 2003
As a follow up; the filter in Proxomitron that was causing the problem is called 'Frame Jumper-Outer' which is turned on by default. Unchecking it seems to correct the situation nicely. posted by quin at 3:49 PM on January 13, 2003
