Hidalgo's after a site that lets you specify the theaters you want listed, not just see all those in your ZIP code. Under that DigitalCity link above, there's one for "My Theaters" - it doesn't work with my AIM ID, but maybe it'll work for you...

Vindigo

Although it's not really a site, but rather, an application for Palm OS.

And it kicks everyone else's ass.

Response by poster: nicwolff has the idea. I can find just sites that list movie and theaters by zip code, that's no problem. In fact, I've been using Yahoo! Movies for about 2 years now. The issue is that for some reason it's started listing a lot of places that really aren't theaters, and never have movies playing.

What I'd like to be able to do is say "here are the theaters I want listings displayed from, and here are the theaters I don't want to see listings from."

I don't have a PDA of any kind, at least not yet, but thanks bshort (actually that might end up as an AskMefi question soon). And, I don't trust AOL with my e-mail address, so thanks anyway pockets. Thanks all for the efforts.

The Movie Showtimes portlet of My Yahoo will certainly let you do what you want. You can search by zip code to see available theaters and then add only the ones you want to show up on your portal page.

Here is what you want Hildago...at Fandango you can even get your tickets online (for participating theaters.)

I've got a Perl CGI script based on some ancient scraper script for Salon that scrapes theater data from one or more ZIP codes (as there are tons of them in the Bay Area) and presents only the theaters I'm interested in, carving out all the extraneous screaming portal crap as a side effect. Drop me a note if you want to see the script or a demo of it in action.

In case anyone in the UK has similar needs: UgcRss generates individual RSS listings feeds for all the UGC cinemas in the UK.

(Off topic, but useful: the same chap has just whipped up ActoRss - information feeds on any actor listed in the IMDB)

If these aren't enough, Amazon offersr the service as well.
