Where was the quintessential boring weblog post example of "I ate a cheese sandwich" first mentioned?

I'm curious about the origins of the phrase too, but a ton of Googling revealed very little.

Probably right after that post about the girl on the bike.

This is the earliest version I recall seeing -- I know because I remember the line "I too had a cheese sandwich", which still makes me chuckle.

Then again Joey claims that the "original" cheese sandwich entry is "probably apocryphal."

I don't know, but I do recall a book, Codgerspace, starting out with someone eating a cheese sandwich. In fact, the entire book was based on that event (oh, that and a toaster).

Thanks, jessamyn. Now I can sleep at night.

I just ate a ham and cheese sandwich.
