Donald Fagan question: What does I.G.Y. stand for? I'm guessing International Geophysical Year isn't it.
nightfly is one of my favorite albums.

Only Donald Fagan knows for sure, but International Geophysical Year seems to be the strongest Contender

As stupidsexyFlanders politely said, this was a question for Google.

yoga: I have always heard that it means International...and so on...but I'm curious as to why you guessed it wasn't.

Response by poster: Actually I did google "donald fagan I.G.Y" and "what does I.G.Y. mean". It didn't seem like there was a connection between the lyrics and International Geophysical Year to me.
I knew it was only a matter of time before the snark factor unnecessarily hit the green.

You will get a lot more useful results if you spell Mr. Fagen's name correctly (1600 vs. 144 for the misspelling).

Also, yoga, If your query ran exactly as you say it did, then Google only returned pages with "Donald Fagan IGY" appearing as a single phrase, which is likely to miss any kind of narrative discussion of the title and give you track listings instead. Which is what you got.
Even if you retain the misspelling, changing the quotes in the query to
"donald fagan" igy
gets you your answer on the 10th hit.
Just a little google-fu for your future queries... didn't intend any snark.
