How does one post to Ask Metafilter Anonymous?
I think when you type up and then preview a question there's a check box that you select if you wish the question to be anonymous.
But I wouldn't swear to it in a court of law.

I'm impressed you even believe in law.

New Feature: if you'd like to ask a question anonymously, use this form here. I'll have to approve it, so it won't be posted immediately, and when it does, it will have no connection whatsoever to your account.

"I'm impressed you even believe in law."
You should be more impressed that I could spell "anonymous".

This may seem counter-intuitive but you have to go to the MetaTalk post form, type "ANONYMOUS QUESTION" followed by your question, and then hit post. There's a special script that'll send off your question for Matt's approval. It certainly won't be displayed here for all to see.

FYI, I believe President Bush is as good as any President who has held office in my lifetime.

Interesting there are no snarks or blowups here even though the answer is posted right on the post AskMeFi page. If this was a newer member asking this question, he would have been skewered.

That's the frog-in-a-saucepan effect, PP, when every President is worse than the one before him, you don't really notice until America becomes a boiled frog.

And that's the PP effect, xammer, after jumping on everything Paris has posted since March 2001, it just doesn't register on the radar when he does something stupid that isn't political. :)

My one-a week quota has been used; and from the Ask Mefi home page, there are no instructions, so? So?!

Right, and you can't get to the posting page until the week is up, and you need to get to the posting page to post anonymously. So in your current circumstance you can't post anonymously.

I know the answer; just explaining why it wasn't obvious (or, perhaps I should have asked this question anonymously? DOUBLE SECRET ANONYMITY?)

Oh...
So what you meant to say was, "The instructions for how to post anonymously need to be posted in other places," or something to that affect?

No, I didn't know where the instructions (supposedly) are, and, after looking (where I could), I asked the question.

The lesson to be learned here is: If posting anonymously allows you to circumvent the one-per-week limit, Matt has a bug to fix. If Paris is merely talking out of his ass, we can safely ignore him.
