Madison Meetup

Anyone interested in a Madison meetup? I'm pretty new around here, and would like to meet some of y'all. [+]

I was thinking sometime in the next two weeks (like the weekend of Jan 28-29-30?), maybe at The Great Dane, but, really, anywhere that's convenient. What say you, Madisonians?

And the Great Dane's a great choice!

The only drawback to the Dane is that it's quite large, and it's not always a simple matter to find folks there.

I'm usually on assignment, but if the time worked out for me, I'd show.
The Dane is pretty big for a meetup, maybe the Biatch(?) or whatever that new Irish place is on the square? Drinks are pricey, but the atmosphere is downright atmospheric. Genna's? The Plaza? The Main Depot? The Caribou?
...not that I'm much of a drinker, but... oh, O.K., I'm pretty much a drinker.

Oh, man, Floydd, if only that place WERE called "Biatch." I'd bring Snoop Dogg and the gin and juice would flow freely. (I think it's called Brocach," and I've never been, but I hear it's a convivial place -- sounds good to me. I could also almost literally spit on The Main Depot from my apartment, so that'd be great, too, but I'll go with the Will of the People.

How's about Saturday, Jan. 29th, around 9 or 9:30? Brocach unless someone has a better idea?

Or the Plaza or Main Street Depot would be nice too. I'm scared of Brocach and its molded plastic facade.

Saturday, Jan. 29th ~9 or so looks like it'll work for me. I'll drink poor little interrobangs' share, don't you worry, as I'm a big man with hearty appetites.
I'll vote for The Plaza in order to accomodate rocketman's Biatch-o-phobia.

If the crowd wants to go to Biatch, by all means, don't let my fear of the facade stop us. I'm a big boy, I can take it.

Also, the Plaza at 9 on a Saturday night might not be the most, erm, ideal location.

Brocach (Capitol Square)

I’m going to use this occasion to make my first MeTa (or MeFi) post! As a longtime lurker, I’m glad to finally join in and meet some of you. I second rocketman’s vote for Jolly Bob’s – how can one say no little umbrellas? Oh, and my one experience at Biatch was horrible.
