Why does the recent comment page list them in reverse order? February 12, 2005 11:02 AM   Subscribe

Bug: the recent comments page is grouped again, but it looks like comments for the Blue are in reverse-post order. AskMe are in the correct order.

Actually, the way I setup the query, I don't think I can switch the order of them back. It was quite a feat to optimize the query and get it to group the results efficiently, but I'm doing a newest first on the outer items (the posts) that is being inhereted by the subquery for comments that I'm thinking can't easily be reversed the way my queries are constructed.

Is it the end of the word if the comment listings stay this way?

Probably not. The UI will be inconsistent between AskMe and MeFi (haven't checked MeTa) but I think most people are smart enough to figure it out. Just an irritating little horsefly in the MeFi pony ointment.

If you can't fix the MeFi comment histories, please make them break in a consistent fashion. Not kidding.

Yeah, MetaTalk and Ask Mefi will act the same way by the end of today.
