Twin Cities meetup.... January 3, 2006 1:05 PM Subscribe
Twin Cities meetup: Since the last attempt meetup seems to have been either unfortunate or nonexistent, how's about it? Mpls/St.Paul-ers? Shall we try to sneak something in before a cold front blows through?
Also, the last one wasn't unfortunate or nonexistent, it was in fucking burnsville.

Weird, I was thinking of this but didn't want to plan it.

I'm in, I am mostly free. Lets say January 11th at Britts Pub in Downtown Minneapolis. What date and time works for others?

I'm open to other places as well as long as the smoking ban is in effect at them!

Well, the 11th is my birthday, so I have some other things going on. Maybe that weekend? At Britt's in Uptown?

1. There's a Brit's/Britt's in uptown? wha?
2. I too would prefer something on a weekend.

Oh, I'm stupid. I always get Brit's mixed up with Bryant Lake Bowl.

Anything but the weekend of the 14th and 7th works for me. And I think weekendish is a better idea, for anyone that might have an alternative work schedule (like me).
I think Brit's is a good plan. We had a meetup there before and it turned out wonderfully, though it was summer and we went lawn bowling. So maybe Bryant might be a better idea. Then again, isn't it busy on the weekends? I don't remember, never went there, and I don't live in uptown anymore.
So, in summary, I have no clue. How about Leaning Tower?

Before I forget, the place needs to be wheelchair accessible. Leaning Tower sounds cool to me. I am free every weekend except the 20th and 21st, but you can meet without me and post a post meetup report here.

Why don't we say Thursday the 12th or (ooooooh) Friday the 13th, since folks seem to be leaning towards that weekend?
So far suggestions are Brit's, Bryant-Lake Bowl and Leaning Tower. I'm happy with any of the above, although being an Uptowner, I'm biased towards the last two, and BLB trumps Leaning Tower for atmosphere, I think.
If I could toss a suggestion onto the pile, it would be Grumpy's Nordeast.

I work M-Th nights, so those are out for me. Any other time is great.

I will come to whatever's planned, schedule permitting. My schedule is horsecrap, so don't plan around me. There's no good weekend for me, but I will do my darndest to squeeze the time.

I miss the Twin Cities. Sigh.
If you go to Brit's, get the bread pudding. It's astounding.

I'm thinking Brit's after work (7-ish) on Friday the 13th. If people prefer that Saturday the 14th, let's move it to then, but otherwise I'll post a reminder next week with Brit's, 7 p.m., 1/13.
