Thanks russilwvong!

I hope I didn't get anyone's names wrong or mangle it too much. I had a good time, thanks to everyone who could make it!

Many thanks for a great night, Porpoise. Y'all talked me into it--with such a fun group, how could I resist?

I love the hockey on TV in many of the shots. Go Canucks!

What'd you use to take that photo, timeistight?
posted by smackfu at 3:18 PM on February 5, 2006

A Canon Digital Rebel with a Canon EF 85mm 1.8 lens. It's a really nice, fast lens, but a bit too long for shooting in a pub.

Really nice to meet some fellow mefites in the flesh, thanks for setting it up purple :) Keep in touch all!

squeak; definitely tell us when you're back in town next, it'll make for a decidedly Vancouverish (and delicious) meetup!

Dang, pissed I couldn't make it. Found myself doing Bollywood dancing at UBC's Malaysia Singapore night instead. Next time!!!!

Nice results, and that's a fair assessment of the lens. Especially with the multiplier.

Woah. I've totally seen lenny70 in the compsci labs here at UBC.
*wave*
Sorry I missed out.

I'm supposed to be in Van (staying on the UBC campus) May long weekend. Any chance you'll want to do this again then?

There was talk at the end of a UBC meetup, since a good chunk of us were UBC students.

Hopefully next time, the cat won't swallow a ribbon and need a trip to the vet again. (Cat vomit induced. Pocket $60 lighter. A few towels cat puke-ified. Cat now fine.)

I'd love to, I can hear Hon's Wun Tun House calling me. I just have to figure out how to make it work, my poor 250cc motorcycle would vibrate into peices (or I would) if I tried riding it into Vancouver so that leaves greyhound (ugh). But warbaby's hostel idea is one that I hadn't thought of before ... soooo a tentative count me in for the next meetup.

sorry it took so long to respond I have a difficult time keeping track of the threads I should be watching

squeak, have you tried the mycomments page? I find that it helps me keep track.

I'm horribly scatter brained and have been accessing my comments through my profile page will give it a go and see if it helps, thanks for reminding me it's there.
