Some metrics: 50,000 posts and 1.24 million comments since July 14, 1999 = 20.5 posts per day or almost one post per hour, 511 comments per day or about 1 comment every three minutes for the last 6.75 years.

I think it would be interesting to see a chart of post distribution by user name. I'm sure 20% of the users account for 80% of the posts/comments.

Congratulations Matt. You've made an excellent website and one which you should be truly proud of. Not only has it gained international fame as a premier website of note, it also managed to get me to part with $5 of my hard earned cash. That in and of itself is a pretty hefty achievement.

Matt; the line graph is useful but it dosen't tell the whole story. When do you think MeFi really took off? What were the reasons ad factors behind it doing so? Speech, speech!

This seems like as good a place as any to add my congratulations and mention that you've created the best discussion site on the Internet. Nobody does moderated message boards better. In fact, there's no other site I think is run so well that I'd want to congratulate the #1 for doing a good job and not being a self-obsessed jerk.
