I know you're eager to win the $30 for best post of the day, but please limit your linkstraganza to one paragraph on the front page. Paragraph breaks give the appearance of multiple posts on the front page and can cause confusion. Recent examples include this post and this post. If you absolutely must have more than one paragraph in your post, put the first on the front page, and the remainder in the first comment. Thanks in advance.

I hereby pledge to only post single-link posts for the entirety of this contest. Won't you all join me?

Shoulda made it $5, not $30.

I will take a good one link post, with a really quality link, over a link extravaganza any day. Nevertheless, some of those are pretty awesome. The best link fests are usually when there is a main link and then a few supporting links to explain, give examples or give contrasting points of view.

I'm Outraged , what were we talking about again ?

I wondered about this.

On one hand, the bounty is a great idea, and hopefully contributes to people stepping their game up and really trying to deliver higher quality FPPs in order to "win".

On the other hand, it could end up generating a lot more people submitting a lot more FPPs, and if you play the percentages, a good chunk of those FPPs are going to be crap (or at least outside the traditional MeFi posting conventions).

No way to know for sure until we're into it a little further though, probably...

I don't think that posts that look like more than one post are such a bad idea.

It could be a lot worse.

And I don't see a problem with that AT ALL.

Sarge! Where you been?

I just want to point out that my linkstravaganza from yesterday (which, btw, got way more 'favorites' than dios'), was made without a thought to the contest. Just something I'd been meaning to share. It was only after I posted it that I remembered the contest, and secretly wished for my $30.

This should be in the general guidelines page. Or is it? I've never read them.

Agreed. That posting style is annoying.

There are guidelines?

Sorry about that. I wasn't really sure where to break it up, and I have seen (and made) multi-paragraph posts before without much complaint. But lesson learnt.

I wasn't really sure where to break it up

The thought "where can I break this up?" should be followed immediately by the thought "more inside." You can put as many paragraph breaks as you like in the first comment and no one will give a damn.
