Auckland meetup, bbq edition? This weekend?
I'm still up for it. So's Mrs. Toxic. Saturday the 14th actually works somewhat better for us, too.

I might go skiing. If not, I guess I'll probably come. Keep posting as you get the details sorted out.

(Althought strictly speaking we shouldn't be having a BBQ until Labor Weekend or later.)

Labour Day is always the last Monday in October, ensuring a long weekend for those of us not enslaved to the service industry.
Eight hours work, eight hours play, eight hours sleep for eight bob a day!

I can't do Saturday, but I'd be keen for Sunday. What about going for lunch/brunch somewhere at 12:30 on Sunday? Can Mr & Mrs Toxic make that?
That way there's no BBQ bagging effort required, whoever can make it just has to turn up and (bonus), I don't have to bring my own food. Easy.
I can recommend Sierra Cafe on Dominion Rd. as a good brunch/lunch place for a group.

It really is too early for BBQs, but no BBQ means no booze.
How great would it be to stand around in the park, in the blustery wind with an occasional passing squall, trying to eat blackened sausages that are perhaps a little too pink in the middle, in the midst of all the uncomfortable silences, wondering if you have anything in common with all these bloody internet nerds.
But hell, at least the beer would stay cold, right?
(Seriously, I think BBQs are better when the weather is hot.)

I have a teensy weensy bijou problemette, in that having volunteered to get and nab a bbq early, I have discovered an unavoidable commitment on Sunday morning that will prevent my arriving until about 12:30. I reckon they normally go before 11. I can think of several possible solutions. 1, someone else volunteers to be Barbecue Bagger; 2, anyone with portable kit brings it and we set up wherever we like; 3, we shoot for the following weekend (22nd) instead, which I absolutely promise to keep free 4) we go for the Saturday (14th).
