Metafilter DNS change?

I can no longer reach the site using http://metafilter.com, I have to add the 'www'.

It's not really a bug, nor is it actually bad or even annoying. I just noticed cause my bookmark doesn't work anymore.

I've been unable to reach the site for about three or four hours even with the "www".

My name server box is moving, so I added my registrar's nameservers to cover me during the move. I set a wildcard to this IP, so anything.metafilter.com should still work.

IE/Win users can also just type plain old "metafilter" into the address bar, then Ctrl-Enter. Wheee!!!

indeed that seems to work. weird thing is if you visit under a different subdomain than where you logged in, your cookies do not seem to be recognized. e.g. i logged in at www.metafilter.com but when i come back via bogpoop.metafilter.com i have to log in again.
