Boston meetup round II, anyone?
Pick a definite date, though, like last time. That was much better than tiresome debates about the time and place.

I'll be there, with bells on.
Also, I think that the same Mexican place would be fine. They didn't seem all that afraid of us. I'd vote for Friday the 20th or Saturday the 21st...

Hell yeah, I might actually be able to make it this time.
Border Cafe would be sweet. Or if people are OK with Asian food, Pho Pasteur (either in Harvard Square or on Newbury) is great as well. My vote is for Saturday rather than Friday.

If someone flies me down and puts me up in a room I might be able to swing by for 10 minutes and say hi.

Reading the linked thread- did Miguel actually show up the first time, or is he all talk?

Finally I catch one of these before it happens. If anyone actually utters "cowboy up" they're getting a Tecate dumped on their head.
If I'm not there (like anyone would really notice) it means my daughter (due the 24th) has arrived... or my very pregnant wife has forbade me from leaving the house. ("You're going where? To meet up with those Meta-thingie people? Get your ass in that bathroom and start cleaning.")

We did not see Migs the last time, degnarra. I don't think anyone assumed he was at all serious.
Saturday appears to be the leader by a nose.
My vote would be against the previous establishment. It was noisy, crowded, and the food wasn't that great.
I'd invite you all to my hotel suite, but I'll have my kids with me.

Wow, and they said such nice things about you, too. No, really - my wife and I just went back Friday night and enjoyed it immensely; I guess us easterners don't know anything about that "spicy" kind of food that you folks have out west. (insert obligatory ;-) here)
At any rate: sure, I'd go back into town, if only to present our illustrious visitor from the West with a gen-you-wine Tom Brady-autographed N'England Patriots Championship T-shirt. In deference to Crash's sensitive palate, though, I'd still vote for Bukowski's - easy to get to, great beer list, decent food, and a very friendly establishment. Lemme know what "y'all" think!

Sorry yhbc - I live here and find the food at the "previous establishment" lackluster, though I haven't been there in a awhile. On a more conciliatory note, I too love Bukowski's - it is also, however, both noisy and crowded, though that shouldn't rule it out. My quickie list (realizing that some may be disqualified on either the "ease of getting there" or "more of a restaurant than a bar" clauses):
Delux
Redbones
The Good Life
Dogwood
The B-Side
Audubon Circle
The Independent
But I'll go anywhere...

That is WAY too many choices. Somebody pick a spot, near a T stop please, and just announce it, with ringing authority.

If the eating/drinking ratio will be generally even, Redbones is an excellent choice. Good Life is better for after-dinner drinks, as they have live music.
Also, Burren in Davis Square is a nice place.

Any of you familiar with John Harvard's? One of my coworkers recommended it.

I also like the Burren.
As to John Harvard's: The linked review is pretty accurate. Very good beer, food is generally good, (from pub grub to wanna-be upscale, can be hit or miss). Somewhat large and noisy, and can get uncomfortably crowded, but with several large tables, and it's mere steps from the Harvard Square T-stop - I'd second it...

John Harvard's would make it a Cambridge meetup. Not to pull any inter-city rivalries.
The Other Side?
I'll go if y'all do.

The Other Side on Newbury? Once I turned 25 they stopped letting me in. I'm up for John Harvard's, even if it means I have to (shudder) cross the river...
