MeFi Wiki problems April 1, 2004 1:22 AM Subscribe
Okay, so we're having fun with the Metafilter April Fools Wiki, except, uhm, it doesn't work. :) At least not for me. I click 'Edit Page' and edit the page, but my edits are not saved. Or is it just that the db behind it all is just getting so hammered for all the junk and spam posts?
it's just some lame-ass CF wiki code with lots of bugs. I say embrace the chaos.
I'm going to sleep now.

Parameter 2 of function Left which is now 0 must be a positive integer.
This is why we can't have nice things.

I'm just terribly disappointed that nobody took me up on the offer to stridently insult me and describe in painful detail what it is about me they don't like. I'm utterly dejected and will now retire to my quarters. Don't think I've forgotten this egregious failure to violate community norms and personally attack me for the self-delusional agitator that I am. I'm talking to all of you.

I take that back: someone stridently attacked me, leaving me a quivering mass of flesh teeming with uniquely human despair. I love all you guys.

You know what? I just may keep the wiki around for memebers to play with, after April 1st. It might work as a sort of community-editable user page.

I think it'd be great for MetaTalk.

I love Wikis. I hate idiots who delete rather than add or edit useful or funny content, though. Still, it's all in fun, so it's all good.

Is this Matt's idea of what MeFi would be like if he just didn't care? Because, if it is, it's working.

Sort of a safety valve for many, isn't it? Sort of a ScataFilter?

So for some odd reason, I stuck an image on the Wiki front page which is hosted on a web site I have control over. It's getting hit about once a second. So there are a lot of people out there messing around with this. Though as I say that, the accesses stop and the front page has changed again, this time sans my image.

Wow; anarachy. Anarchy always makes me a wee bit embarrassed, strangely. Anyway, I like it. Or I don't. I'm not sure. *Blushes*

For some reason the metawiki feels like the first few minutes of an elementary school recess or the last few hours of the last day of high school. Thanks Matt!

That guy JRun should get his own fucking blog.
Comment originally attempted four hours ago, but MeTa crashed rather than post it. So just imagine how funny the comment would've been back then, rather than now, when it's tired and irrelevant.
