unescaped quotation marks in title June 4, 2004 8:56 AM   Subscribe

Ran into the unescaped quotation marks in title problem when posting to the blue just now. My entire title was a quotation, so my post now has no title. A warning of some sort on the post entry page would be great until this (admittedly minor) bug can be fixed.

Huh, I just posted to the blue with double-quotes around my whole title and it seems OK.

But I was on my way here to post a slightly-related bug: the title you enter in the blue-post form doesn't appear again when you preview, so you have to keep pasting it back in. (Safari 1.2.2)

Odd. I used regular quotation marks and my title was gone. But maybe it was your bug that did me in, and I just didn't notice, and assumed it was the old bug.

Yeah, I need to fix that.

And I probably owe mcgraw an apology for my part in the pile-on that ensued after he posted with no title last month...

I had the same problem awhile back trying to make a post title in quotes.

Semi-related and just idle curiosity: how do you start a front page post without the first words being the link?

My guess: leave the "link title" and "URL" fields blank, and throw in your link in the main body with regular anchor tags.
