New Jersey Meetup

Since Metafilter meetups seem to be all the rage these days--is anyone interested in a New Jersey-area meetup?

One possibility is this weekend (the evening of August 28, or afternoon/evening of August 29) at the Triumph Brewery, in Princeton--they brew six varieties of beer on site, and they’re all tasty. NYC-area MeFites might even find that it’s worthwhile to leave their precious home for a few hours.

Different venues or times might be more convenient for others, though.

I'm out of town that day but that's almost a Philly-area meetup, which I don't think's happened yet. Have fun!

I'd be curious to witness the NJ mefi contingent. The garden-staters are a curious breed, usually tossed between the NY and PA meet-ups. Prospero, Princeton is at least 1 hour away, as i'd be driving from the Newark area. I'd be willing to make the effort on Saturday if we get a small group together. Any one else down?

Saturday would be best for me.

If this Saturday (8/28) can't garner a sufficiently large turnout to merit people getting on the road, we could postpone the meetup to a later Saturday. I could probably make 9/4, but after that I'm booked until 9/25.

Either night works for me, because I just remembered that I have early summer hours on Friday (I work in New York), which would leave enough time to commute to NJ and drive to Princeton.

So, adampsyche prefers Friday. I am impartial, and Prospero wants Saturday. It's a complete draw. Please don't make me decide which day! But is it just us three? Is that worth the effort then?

Hello, tri-state pussies! Where you at? I'd be willing to pick-up/drop-off any intrepid travelers at Newark-area train stations if anyone wants to take a journey from the boroughs towards the farmlands?...

I say if we don't get anymore heads together by the end of the week, maybe we should just accept defeat and jump onto the next NYC meet-up?

Bah! If you delayed this for a week I could almost certainly make it, but I won't be back on campus for another week or so.

Just my luck that the only Princeton MeFi meetup would be when I'm not there.

Also, Princeton Record Exchange is right around the corner on the same block, you might not want to miss that if you are musically inclined and in the neighborhood. (That just sounds like such a blatent commercial, sorry, but it is a good music store - if you disagree don't buy anything, and ignore any of my future recommendations ...)

Well, if we can't round up enough people, then it's probably best to postpone until some unspecified but more fortuitous time. Let's say we'll count heads on Thursday at noon.

I don't know if anyone's still reading this thread, but it turns out that I myself have an engagement that's cropped up that'll take me out of town for the weekend, which is going to prohibit a meetup for me. *sigh*

Sorry I missed this. I'm fond of Princeton but it's a bit of a haul for an evening. I'll do my best, though. I'm going to be away until after Labor Day, but I'd love to meet up after that.
