Can I add a second question since my first one is answered? February 22, 2005 10:18 PM Subscribe
meta-meta-question -
I nearly hit "post" a few minutes ago here, but I stopped myself because I was asking follow up questions, only slightly off-topic. Good ones I think (and the simple thread is nearly worn out). I can't post another question for another 6.5 days. Shouldn't I just ask the questions in the thread while it's a fresh topic instead of posting a new question in a week? Or should I just suck it up and wait?

You should ask side questions that are related to the original one in the open questions. This of course, can be a problem, if you do it too early or ask a question that's kind of oddball. On the other hand, there are *a lot* of questions per day on Ask MeFi, and it's kind of annoying when you see one that starts "Related to this other question about a closely related topic...what about my problem?"

okay. I guess I was thinking it's kinda tough to find when you're researching if the question has already been asked...but of course, nothing's perfect. Thanks.

More information is needed. Hurry, too, I recently set a deadline on my existence.

Sorry to post and sleep, I was long gone when you wrote that, theatrical matriarch. My question is here.

One concern would be that I doubt anyone will read your follow-up, since that question was pretty thoroughly answered and not that interesting in the first place.

that's what I was afraid of, but i was surprised how many comments came in after mine. Only one of them addressed my question, though. It's not really a "read" thread (except to the poster) anyway, more of a "my 2ยข" thread. Oh well, I guess I'll just buy a new flask...
