Chicago Meetup

April Copynight. I'm trying to put together a copynight gathering in Chicago next month (the March event is tomorrow night and I doubt I can get it thrown together by then). While not a per se metafilter event, I think some Chicago area mefis would be interested. I'd like to pick a venue near the loop to make it easy for the postwork crowd. My short list includes Monk's Pub, Fado and Manhattan's.

Make sure you let the people at Gapers Block and Chicagoist know, too. Sounds like fun! I might actually make it to a meetup this time :D

Tuesday, April 26 - World Intellectual Property Day. I'm going out on a limb and saying "Monk's is the place." I'll see if they'll let us reserve the front room, if not, we'll just try to show up early enough to take it over.

(and, naturally, I fully intend to show up this time).

I will be happy to put it up on Gapers Block. Just let me know the details.

(However, unless it's a fairly late-night affair, I probably won't make it, as I work in the far northwest suburbs. Getting all the way downtown at rush hour and paying for parking isn't so appealing.)

Monday is right out. Tuesday, and Thursday nights are almost completely out too unless its a late-night affair =(
