last 50 posts for everyone June 28, 2005 11:55 AM Subscribe
I've swapped in the new mefi homepage showing the last 50 posts for everyone, including non-members. You can use the links at the bottom to page through more results. Gone is the feature that let you customize how many days to show on the front page, but on the positive side, this should make for a much better use of server resources.
Fair shake. Thanks, Matt.

Thank you Matt.
I actually like things on the front page getting a little more exposure.

Works for me, expect that for brains like mine that think left to right, I feel like the "next page" should actually read "previous page"

Cool.

Yeah -- next in succession, but previous in time; confusing. Maybe use "older" and "newer" like gmail?

Good choice, Matt. And I think it's great that everyone seems to understand that sacrificing some customization in favor of server resources is a good thing.

Anything to help ease the server's load. Well, except not coming to MeFi at all.
Would this be called a pony or is this more like getting the pony in better shape?

The Metafilter next page link is opening in a new tab (Firefox/XP) for me even though other metafilter links and the AskMe/Meta previous questions/posts do not. Is this the intended behaviour?

the blue says "previous page" and "next page" and goes forward in time for previous and back in time for next. thats fucked up. the gray does it right, but the fact that blue and gray work differently is truly fucked up.
