British widow thread. (a) Just a news story. (b) Should have been in the previous thread.

But what ought to happen when you find new information on an old topic and the original thread is now a little stale?

You assume that people interested in follow-ups to old topics are browsing by "new comments". Which is right and proper.

(Not just a news story, though: allows for variations on the INS rant from non-Americans, and makes Americans aware of said useless organisation.)

Holgate, you sound as if the US should just open its' borders up to anyone who wants to come here in search of a better life.

Actually, come to think of it....I guess that is exactly what we should do. How very logical. Carry on.

I posted the 2001 Ig Nobel Prize winners in the really stale 2000 Ig Nobel Prize thread just to make a point. New information? Yes. Stale thread? Yes again. Did it work? Not really.

Vowe posted two self-links about the CNN/Swiss map fiasco. I guess not many are checking the 'recent comments' or 'my comments' views of the front page to check up on the latest on threads they have posted on or are interested in. Maybe fooljay's MeFi Filter can help people track threads and cut down on the 'update' posts.

Ugh. Sorry. I've been neck-deep in shit recently and have neglected to get people signed up, mainly because I need info.

If you want to use the app, send me the following via email:

Mefi username
Desired password (not your mefi password)
Email address (used only for admin purposes only)

With that I'll be able to set you up pronto... Sorry again for the lag.

Errr, of course, in the process of sending me an email, you will have already sent me your email address...

Funny thing, this Internet.

Oooh look at the time. Good night.

Of course. I think I was only asking because I wanted to say something other than "goddamn thread".

Maybe the first one wasn't, but "Woman not Deported" is, and not a particularly interesting one either.

Down with Immigration (depts.) AND Customs. I hate Customs.

I hate Customs.

Especially Morris Dancing.

Oh no, I rather fancy a bit of Morris Dancing. My, how they twirl!
