You know, if you wanted another conspiracy theory to chew over, ponder that even as we've debated the merits of limiting the number of users, and Matt has hinted at various ways he might tighten the lid, MeFi suddenly develops a monster thread over an Internet hoax, then trickles its way into non-existence for a few days, only to magically re-emerge "someplace else"....and now Capt. C. points out the bar on newbies........hmmmmmm........

J Ko is right (Jason Kottke is way too many syllables for such an aspiring star, it'll never play with the kids today and their short attention spans. I say we dub him J Ko and watch his star just keep on rising), the measure was put in place as a temporary measure and will be back soon. I'm currently on a borrowed AOL line in San Diego right now ("Hello San Diego!!!"), but as soon as I get back home (Sunday), everything will be back to normal.

Oh course, calling him J Ko kind of requires he starts singing and wearing skimpy clothing...

I'm so glad that in my religion all spelling and grammatical errors are fixed posthumously. It's in the final reward clause.
