Adding year of release to Fanfare front page posts
This has been asked before, in Nov 2022, when the site owner called it a "really good idea" and a then-current tech person said it seemed "uncontroversial and positive, so I'll put that on the pile of things to do." Is this still something the community thinks is worth doing? If so, any chance it could be implemented? It might increase engagement in an area of the site that could use it. I know I'd find it useful, anyway.
Fanfare Pony Request. Ability to hide/mute shows ?
If the technical overhead is not too much, would it be possible to allow logged in users to mute/hide certain shows completely? [more inside]
Strike that, reverse it?
Deleted posts can be flagged but not favorited. Shouldn't it be the other way around? [more inside]
Determining "D'oh!" draft delay
Would it be possible to create draft FPPs before the end of the 24-hour delay? In other words, you would get the D'oh!/"you have already posted a link in the past 24 hours" page after hitting publish instead of when you click on New Post. I think the 24-hour delay is a good thing but it's intended to prevent people from posting not writing. Changing the order would allow people to check HTML formatting and link accuracy earlier in the writing process if they want to post on back-to-back days. Aside from changing the back end of the publishing process (which I know nothing about and may very well be insurmountable) would it add additional work or issues for the mods over time? Is this something that other people who post FPPs would like? [more inside]
Are we counting favorites the right way?
On our user pages, the two numbers tracked for favorites count different things. The first one is a count of how many individual comments I have favorited. The second number is a count of how many times everyone has favorited a comment of mine. The description of that second number, "Favorited by others," is sort of misleading, I think, because it doesn't count individual comments the way the first number does. [more inside]
Any chance of resurrecting this favorites pony request?
After a long day of reading the site on mobile while waiting for stuff, the request here to add a "Favorite this post" link to the "Who favorited this post" page (the one that comes up when you click the link with the number of people who favorited the post) made a lot of sense to me. [more inside]
Fanfare Pony / Feature Addition request
I know that Fanfare currently supports TV Shows, Books, Movies, and Podcasts, but is there any chance - or indeed any demand - for it to also support regular Youtube Webseries / Channels? [more inside]
Pony Request: MyTalk
Would it be possible to get the ability to filter MetaTalk posts by tags and create "My Talk"? [more inside]
[Add to activity]
Can we have an "add to activity" button on the front pages like we do for favorites? If so, what should it look like? Discuss.
A way to request FPPs?
I know that the site is not supposed to be newsfilter, and that the answer to “I wish someone would post on X” is often “post it yourself, hooray”. But there are often topics or stories where I find myself thinking, “man, I wish someone on Metafilter who actually knows something about this field would write up a post about this thing to help me understand it better.” Alternatively, if someone wanted to work on a post but also wanted some help from someone who understands the field/industry/current media landscape around a subject, it would be nice to put out some kind of call/request to see if any of those subject area experts would be up for looking at a draft and offering feedback. I would ride this pony into a sunset and a title card that says The End.
On FanFare, would it be possible to have the option to subscribe to a film club like you can subscribe to a tv show? [more inside]
Pony Request: Bring (new comments) functionality to Recent Activity
One of Metafilter's most convenient features is how posts shown on the sub-site pages note that there are (x comments)(y new). It's great to hit the (y new) link and bounce directly to fresh content identified just for you based on your past history with that thread. Adding this functionality to Recent Activities would improve that page's usefulness under many common scenarios. [more inside]
Let's fill the stable: My Fanfare
I would like to (without using RSS, and without making bookmarks) be able to go to one page on Fanfare and see all of the threads posted about only the series that I care about. [more inside]
Ctrl+enter to post/preview?
I was wondering what the community and dev team thinks about adding a ctrl+enter shortcut to post comments. It's something that's fairly common elsewhere on the web, and in my opinion it would be nice to have it here as well. Going to the mouse to click on Post Comment is not exactly a big deal, but it would be cool if there were a keyboard shortcut for those of us who are slightly mouse-averse. [more inside]
Feature request: Random favorite button
I would love to have a "random" button that is restricted only to my list of favorite posts. Is this feasible? [more inside]

How can I create an RSS feed out of the 7 day popular favorites page on the Blue? If that's not a feature, well, there's my pony request.

i need feedback/help and don't know if mefi is appropriate.
I'm trying to get feedback/helpers on a collaborative Google Map of bike paths in the Boston area. It's pretty small and unambitious, hardly something I've spent "a few months" on. Is this appropriate for MeFi Projects? [more inside]
My Little Plurk Pony Request
Can we get Plurk added to list of Social Apps? Please?
Ringtones on Music
The Punch 'Em In The Dick thread contained this, which made me set up and post this, and wonder if ringtone downloads could be a cool feature to add to Music. [more inside]

Can I have a shiny new pony tomorrow?
With members flaming out in rapid succession recently (and I know that people do this all the time, but we seem to have a cluster right now), how difficult would it be for The Button to require email verification, say 24 hours after it is hit, before an account is actually closed? [more inside]
Searching For A Heart Of Gold
So Matt said "Full text search is in the works right now, and will be rolled out soon." Yayhooray! This is the part where I annoy him and pb and make their lives more difficult by asking everybody about their dream search features (and slip in a request or seven of my own). [more inside]

Last comment by?
A small pony request:
When I am interested in ongoing threads or participating in a discussion, I will frequently check back to see if there are new comments after the one I just posted. However, there is a time limit or something on how often the "new comment" message updates. Would it be possible / productive / desirable to add "last comment by [username]" after the "number of comments" text?
Tag Families
A request for 'tag groups' and 'tag aliases'. Explained inside.

I'd love to change the (Metafilter) world, but I don't know what to do-ooooooo......
StylesheetPonyFilter: I wander the MeFi universe in the Plain Text theme, thus The Blue is white, The Green is white and The Grey is also white. Wouldn't It Be Nice If hyperlinks in the white version of the Blue were blue (which they are), those in the white version of the Green were green and those in the white version of the Grey were grey?
Connect MeTa threads directly to the original threads that inspired them?
It would be extremely beneficial to be able to connect MeTa threads directly to the original threads that inspired them.
When someone posts an innappropriate/poorly formatted/whatever thread, calling it out in thread gets it sidetracked, but they are unlikely to ever see the MeTa thread, and flagging for deletion isn't always the best solution. This way you could simply create a 'linked' MeTa thread, a link would popup in the initial thread (directly under headline on inside?) and discussion ABOUT the thread could take place there. Similar to the way wikipedia treats neutrality disputes, etc.

You are ineligible to post
Idea: what if the "New Post" and "New Question" links vanish-or change to say "You are ineligible to post"-when you aren't eligible? That would eliminate a lot of the "Oh lemme ax metafilter about that." ...*click*... "Sweet Lady Marmalade! I can't yet!"
Then when you're allowed again they change back to normal.

Is it possible to gift someone a membership?
Is it possible to gift someone a membership? I have a friend sorely in need of a MeFi lifestyle awakening, but haven't seen a way to make this happen.
Discussion area in MeFi Music?
How about a discussion area in MeFi Music for members to set up collaborations? There's a lot of talent among the members, and I think it would be pretty cool to have the opportunity to collaborate with people across the world.
AskMeFi should consider making a separate section for travel/location questions
AskMeFi should consider making a separate section for travel/location questions. Unless I'm going to be in London (Istanbul, Des Moines), I don't have an interest in the question or the answer.

Feature request: onsite search is back, and one enhancement I'd like to see is the ability to search through my comments only. [more]
High turnover on AskMe
I've noticed that AskMefi has a high turnover rate these days, and some questions don't get answered because they age too quickly.
Suggestion: how bout we have two columns of questions instead of one? So that older questions show up next to the newest one - and have a longer life?

Feedback system for flagging so I can see that it has some result
Feedback System for Flagging: Everytime someone posts a callaout to MeTa, the usual response is "flag it and move on", which is great in theory, but there's absolutely no feedback by doing that. A page that lists everything we've flagged and the respective follow-up. (Please note, these responses could be automatically generated based on the current status of the post/comment) Examples:
Comemnt #129382 - Flagged as: Offensive - Result: Flag noted by admin but ignored.
Post #129834 - Flagged as: Duplicate - Result: Post Deleted
Post #149493 - Flagged as: Excellent - Result: Added to sidebar
I think if users could see that flagging actually has some effect, they might be less liable to whine about it in MeTa Callouts.

Can the checkmark for best answer be a link?
Can we make this a link: ? Cuz I always try to click on it whenever I see it, and it's driving me a little nuts. And it would be super convenient and save me a little scrolling when I just want to see the Best Answer. Yeah. Ponies!
Would it be worthwhile to incorporate a tag search?
Would it be worthwhile to incorporate a tag search as part of the post new thread process? I'm picturing it comparing the tags chosen for a new post to previously tagged threads, and displaying a list of threads with two or more tags in common.
Can we have the italics, bold and link buttons on the customize page, please?
Small pony please Santa. How about the 'i, B, link' buttons on the 'Customize' page? I'm not a(n) HTML samurai so that would really help someone like me when doing a mega-lazy/basic user-page layout.
