Color Comments By User
I made a Greasemonkey script that allows you to assign a color of your choosing to any MeFi user and displays each user's comments in their corresponding color. [more inside]
SLYT? No thanks.
Does anyone know of (or is anyone willing to write) a greasemonkey script that would automatically filter out posts with SLYT in them? [more inside]
How do you view the Blue?
MeFi gives us the option to choose a theme, tweak the font, font sizes, etc, to make the site look the way we want it to lookâto a degree. Add-ons like Greasemonkey allow us to customize even further.

I like to complain.
Is there room for personal preference in the "users close to you box"?
Pimp My Preferences
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there a "metafilter skins" or "mefi css" customization repository where I can choose more interesting themes? Or some super-customization method? I'm really feeling the need to see some yellow and purple stripes with kitten wallpaper lately; feelin' weary with the same old blue, green, and grey after all these years.
Freedom! We're better than Myspace!
I added a new feature: Custom CSS for profile pages. You simply create a .css file on your own server, write whatever CSS you want, and it will load after all the mefi CSS when anyone views your user page. Here's mine (which loads this). Just plop in the URL of your custom CSS file on your server in your user prefs.
Be sure to post here when you've got something cool to show. Let the ugliness/coolness begin!
I would like to have a way to hide some of the AskMe questions
I would like to have a way to hide some of the AskMe questions -- a button that would leave the title, but make the front-page part of the question invisible. I'm not talking about filtering out a user; I just want remove some questions from sight. If this is do-able, is there a downside to it? I swear this has nothing to do with the survey about scary things.
Hands of Manos' profile page is pretty freaking amazing
While, it'd be nice if you could still see his comments, links, and previous posts, Hands of Manos' profile page is pretty freaking amazing, especially considering the limitations of the space.
Can I open all links in new tabs?
Is there a way (currently or hypothetically) to customize my account to open exterior links in a new tab, if I'm using that kind of browser? Just curious.
white on blue, black on white
When viewing Metafilter's home page using Mozilla 1.3 or Netscape 7.1, the background/font colors change from white text on blue, to a white background with black text when I log in. This is very painful for me to view. I've tried deleting cookies, resetting preferences, etc. Or is this is a new "feature"?
I wanted a themed profile
So, there doesn't seem to be anything in Metafilter policy *banning* it- how does one "theme" one's user page like Danelope ?

Would user-defined style sheets be possible?
Would user-defined style sheets be possible? I'm wishing I could control the presentation of posts more than the customization tool allows (spacing, leading, etc.).
Is there any way to customize the spell-check a little?
This is really more of a nit, but a nit is a little tiny bug, I guess .... Is there any way to customize the spell-check a little? I'm getting really tired of seeing Mafia every time I spellcheck MeFi.
customization of fonts is no longer working in Mefi
At least in IE5.0 for Mac, the customization of fonts is no longer working in Mefi. Although it is in Meta.
custom stylesheets
Not that don't like the look of MetaFilter, but I think it would be nice if the Customize page had a textarea field for specifying custom stylesheet rules. More inside...
Is it okay to add our own personal style to our profile?

Profile customization suggestion
I just noticed that the customize page lets you add a blurb....however, once you add the blurb and go to check your updates, you still see all that intro text which I think is unecessary and splits up user info unecessarily. Esp.since it's in bold, which my user info is not. Can this goaway? Other people's thoughts?
