I was a little sad to see the Purple Reign post deleted; I realize that the post itself was DOA but I loved some of the links posted within the thread. Perhaps there is a middle ground that is a step above killing that would still allow folks to at least see the comments while still culling the post.

AskMe is quickly turning into my favorite food resource of all time. It's a vast treasure trove of practical, easy to make recipes and good food-related advice shared by regular folks, not food writers or even, necessarily, hardcore foodies. Can we have a thread consolidating the favorite/most useful recipes and advice AskMe has produced? [more inside]

Speaking of the Value of D'oh: crush-onastick suggested a "oops! god no, i take it back!" button and ook added "But it should disappear once somebody else has posted after you, so people can't delete something from the middle of a thread.". I thought it was a good idea, but I should: I suggested the same thing in February 2000, only I wanted to call it a "D'oh" button. Less a pony, more an old grey mare?

A "Post with Comment" feature, which enables you to post a link *and* the first comment in a thread at the same time.
