I'd love to find someone to interview for a class assignment (due Thursday), about problem solving in teaching English as a second/foreign language in a classroom. There seem to be a few experienced ESL teachers around here, and it would be awesome to be able to talk to one on the phone here in the US. Would it be appropriate to look for an interviewee via AskMe?

Ok, so now that February is over, what happens to the AskMe posting limits?

I can't post on AskMe - on the preview page, hitting Post just reloads the preview page. Firefox 2.0.0.1. Not seeing any error messages either.

How can I post a question on AskMeFi using the anonymous account ? When I login using my username and try to post a question, I see a link to post the question anonymously but if I have already posted in the past 1 week, then this link does not appear.

We just got this request a bit ago, but I'm afraid I must make a similar one. Can someone post an AskMe for me? I've got a time sensitive question and AskMe tends to be the best place to get good help [more inside]

Here or AskMeFi?
i'm not sure if i should post this here or ask mefi, but i'm looking for an old post that i found around Thanksgiving.
It was a blog and/or humorous editorial about Thanksgiving in the White House. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and/or know where I can find it?
I've searched for keywords and searched the tags, but i'm just not finding it.

When posting to AskMe there is some confusion on the descriptions of the text boxes. I copied the italicized text from the "Preview Your Question" AskMe posting page.
Below the "Your question" box the text reads:
This will be the "more inside" area where you explain additional details about the question if necessary. If you use this space, don't write "more inside" to the question area, it will automatically be added for you.
Then below the "Extended explanation" box is something similar:
(optional) This will be the "more inside" area where you explain the question fully if necessary and remember there is no need to write "more inside" .....
I found this a little confusing and repetitive. I know that the top box is what would be a FPP, but maybe this could be phrased better? Is the text below the top box supposed to introduce/explain the second box? Of course, I posted a question so now I can't get back to the original "Post a new question" page to see if that is how this is written there.

Get to the question. Since the introduction of the system more inside feature in AskMe the number of posts where the
question isn't
on the
main page
has been
trending upwards. Yesterday was especially bad. It would seem that actually asking your question where skimmers can see it would be a prudent course of action.

I posted a new question to AskMeFi this morning, and after hitting submit, I was taken directly back to the
main page, where my question wasn't listed. I tried going back in to
post, but it said I'd already asked my question for the week. To be sure, I logged out and back in, and my question still didn't show up, and I couldn't re-ask it. What happened?

so, are there differences between the posting limits (once per week) on ask.mefi and metafilter proper? In other words, once you've posted anywhere on the Mefi network, do you have to wait a week to post elsewhere, or is the posting limit unique to each area?
Also, it would be cool if "best answers" were tallied for each user, and posting frequency tied to it somehow. Or not. Please don't hurt me.

Could we please not allow someone to start an Ask MeFi thread before they have contributed to the site by posting comments somewhere? It is really not too much to ask. I know this could be abused by someone posting periods or "What so and so said", etc. I wonder if there is an elegant solution.

Instead of one AskMe/MetaTalk thread a week, can we get four a month?

Countdown to posting?
I had a good AskMeFi question and went to post it but got the No Posty For You page.
Would it be possible to get a countdown timer involved so that I could get an idea of when I could ask the question?

When you're previewing a question in AskMeFi, it tells you to hit back on your browser to tweak the question. When you do, the initial text you wrote no longer appears in the box. (Or is this just me?)

I don't care if it
is phrased in the form of a question.
Using AskMe to get in a second post because you "already shot [your] wad today with a different MeFi front page post and thought this merited a posting" is just not on.
