MoreMefiMeetupMadness! Per this thread, it seems that the evening of 9/25 (Sunday) is my designated time to meet at least a few of you Noo Yawkers. So let's nail down a time and place! I'll be staying in Chelsea, if that seems relevant.
(London Mefites, don't think I've forgotten you! I'm just waiting to hear from friends about which night we'll be seeing a performance, then will post a proper thread to work out our own Jolly Olde Meetuppe Plannes.)

I'd love to, but my schedule's booked for (early) Monday morning.

Oh for dog's sake, people, unless someone comes up with another suggestion, I'll just call it myself: Manitoba's (because the jukebox sounds awesome), Sunday at 8 pm. I expect to see jon, amberglow, and splatta at the very least!

This isn't a recommendation for a meetup venue (too cramped), but RIB at 357 West has a drink with watermelon infused vodka; they put a chunk of the fruit in the drink (eat AYOR ;-) )

I can't sundays after about 5pm. Unless there's somekind of planetary alignment and my usual thing gets cancelled, but it currently doesn't look like that's going to happen. That's two this week I'll miss. A shame. Have fun, though!

Pretty sure I can make it.

UPDATE: I'm meeting up with a friend earlier than I expected on Monday morning, so can we make it 7:00 pm instead? Sorry I won't see all of you who can't make it (you bastards), but i'm looking forward to meeting the rest!

brujita, their mint juleps, while not completely authentic, are mighty fine. And their pulled pork sandwich is a little slice of Down East heaven that made this transplanted North Carolinian very happy.

With my health difficulties and money problems, I'm afraid, I'm gonna have to pass this time. Sorry to disappoint, scody.

I liked RIB's pulled pork too, but I'll remain neutral in the barbecue wars. Extra-sourdough bread is what I miss most about LA--the cracked-wheat kind from Trader Joes is the best, but their east coast stores don't stock it :-( .

jon, WHAT?! I'll buy! And it doesn't even have to be alcohol! An iced tea? A Shirley Temple? Water with a lime wedge? (just feel better soon, you crazy kid!)

right, so what is it then? 7pm, 8pm, manitoba, rib, that belgian frites place on w4 ....?

Ooh, I would like to come to this, if I am able. (Woulda responded sooner, but I just got back to NY after two weeks away.)

Is there a consensus about when and where?
And would anyone be interested in catching the Wolf Eyes show later that night at the Mercury Lounge?

brujita's suggestion of RIB seemed more like a general recommendation rather than a proposed alternate meetup venue, so I'm sticking with Manitoba's at 7:00 pm on Sunday. See (some of) you there!

7 at Manitoba's : >

Ugh. Begging off at the last minute. An early morning and a fucked-up sleep schedule have done me in for the day. Hope you have a wonderful time, and I'll try to make the next meetup.

Boy am I worthless, I'm bowing out too, with hours of electrodynamics and partial differential equations ahead of me :-/.
