MeFi's down. Again. September 24, 2005 1:00 PM   Subscribe

Administrators! It seems to me that this website has been having a lot of downtime recently; well, this century. Do we know any more about what is causing it, and are there plans to combat this phantom menace?

As soon as Matt switches from IIS to Apache, everything will be fine. Or is it the other way around?

Hygiene is important in limiting spread of the JRuns.

I have to say, this site certainly has convinced me that Windows and Cold Fusion are not a serious server solution.

Web server. Data access interface. Database.

I think the web server is already Apache and is kicking ass. Seems like the problem is in the interface layer (isn't that where JRun comes in?). I don't think I've ever heard a plan to get off Cold Fusion.

I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

It's weird, the server has been pretty good lately, only flaking out once every 4-5 days, but for some reason in the past 24 hours it seems to be killing itself every two hours or so, and I'm offline most of this weekend. I've got some help looking into it and I'll spend tomorrow afternoon testing some tweaks out to see if I can get some semblance of stability back.
